Fremont, Nebraska- The Fremont Moo extended its win streak to five games with an 11-10 win over the Spearish Sasquatch, in walk-off fashion, Friday night at Historic Moller Field.


Fremont started the scoring in the bottom of the first. Henry Hayman drew a one-out walk off Spearfish starter Julio Romero and Tyman Long followed with a walk, as well. Tyler Harrington singled, driving in Hayman, and an error put runners at second and third. Carter Sintek grounded out to second, scoring Long, to make it 2-0. A double steal brought Harrington home to put Fremont up, 3-0.


The Sasquatch tied the game in the top of the second. Jack Nehler swung at the first pitch from Moo starter Brody Sintek, and hit his first home run of the year, to make it 3-1. Nolan Ackerman doubled, but came up lame and was replaced by Gage Kracht. Bryson Hoier singled, bringing home Kracht, to make it 3-2. Three batters later, Keegan Weston hit an RBI double, scoring Hoier, to make it a 3-3 game.


The Moo recaptured the lead in the bottom of the second. Andrew Kirchner was hit by a pitch and advanced to second, then third, on two wild pitches. Two batters later Henry Hayman hit an RBI double, scoring Kirchner, to make it 4-3. Then, Tyman Long hit a 1-0 pitch off Romero, over the center field fence, to put Fremont up 6-3.


Spearfish tied the game, again, in the top of the fourth. Kracht led off with a walk. Then, Bryson Hoier hit a come-backer to Brody Sintek, who threw to second, but nobody was covering and the throw went into center field. Joey Legg hit an RBI single, scoring Kracht, making it 6-4. Two batters later, Weston hit an RBI single, scoring Hoier, to make it 6-5. Then, Seth Nelson reached on a fielder's choice, scoring Legg, to tie the game at 6-6.


Fremont regained the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Blake Tablazon led off with a walk. Henry Hayman walked and Tablazon stole third. A wild pitch advanced Hayman to second, then Tyman Long walked, to load up the bases. Spearfish went to its second reliever Jack Sutton who got Harrington to ground out into a 6-4-3 double play, but Tablazon scored, making it 7-6.


The score stayed that way until the bottom of the eighth. Andrew Kirchner led off with a double. Hunter Palmer laid down a bunt, but Sutton's throw to first sailed high, allowing Kirchner to score, making it 8-6. Palmer stole second and Tablazon was hit by a pitch. Spearfish brought Joe McBride into the game. On the first pitch, a double-steal put Palmer at third and Tablazon at second. A wild pitch scored Palmer and a passed ball plated Tablazon to put Fremont up 10-6.


Spearfish battled back to tie the game in the top of the ninth. Ryan Bachman led off with a double and two batters later Jack Nehler drew a walk. Gage Kracht reached on a walk to load the bases. Then, Bryson Hoier hit into a fielder's choice on a grounder to short, but Carter Sintek's throw to second sailed into right field, allowing Bachman and pinch-runner Aiden Bennet to score, to make it 10-8. Darius Blasingane got Joey Legg to foul out, wide of third, for the second out. However, pinch-hitter Bailey Bordas hit a two-RBI single to left, scoring Kracht and Hoier, to tie the game at 10-10. After pinch-hitter Chaz Crook singled to put runners on first and second, the Moo went to the bullpen and brought in Conner Petersen. The righty got Seth Nelson to fly out to right, on a 2-2 pitch to end the inning.


Fremont found a way to walk it off in the bottom of the ninth. Carter Sintek led off with a walk. Then, Hayden Lewis laid down a sacrifice bunt, advancing Sintek to second, with one out. Neil Jansen bounced out to third for the second out. Then, Sintek stole third before Andrew Kirchner was hit by a pitch to put runners on first and third. Hunter Palmer stepped to the plate and McBride's first pitch bounced in the dirt and got away, allowing Sintek to score. Fremont won the three hour and forty-seven minute contest, 11-10. 


Moo starter Brody Sintek pitched 4.0 innings. The Fremont native at Wayne State College gave up six hits, three earned runs, walked one, struck out five and yielded the home run to Jack Nehler in the second inning. Brandon Lundquist pitched 3.0 innings. The Omaha native from the University of Nebraska gave up one hit, no runs, walked five, struck out three and had one wild pitch. Darius Blasingane pitched 1.2 innings. The St. Petersburg, Florida native at Edward Waters University gave up four hits, four unearned runs and walked two. Conner Petersen (1-0) pitched 0.1 inning. The Tucson, Arizona native at Midland University faced one batter, getting a flyout.


Spearfish starter Julio Romero pitched 2.0 innings. He gave up three hits, five earned runs, walked three and struck out three. He gave up a two-run home run to Tyman Long in the second inning, plus had two wild pitches and hit one batter. Levi Graham pitched 1.0 inning, giving up one hit, one run, walked four, struck out one and had two wild pitches. Jack Sutton pitched 4.0 innings. He gave up three hits, three unearned runs, walked one, struck out four and hit one batter. Joe McBride (1-2) took the loss. He pitched 1.2 innings, giving up one run, walked one, struck out three and hit one batter.


Offensively, Fremont's Henry Hayman was 1-for-3. The Melbourne, Australia native at Barton County Community College drove in one run. Tyman Long was 1-for-3. The Sioux Falls, South Dakota native at College of Southern Nevada hit his league tying eleventh home run of the year in the second inning, driving in two runs. Tyler Harrington was 2-for-5. The Lakeland, Tennessee native, headed to Alabama-Birmingham, had two RBI's.


For Spearfish, Seth Nelson was 0-for-6 and drove in one run. Jack Nehler was 1-for-3 with a solo home run. Bryson Hoier was 1-for-5 and drove in one run. Joey Legg was 3-for-5 with one RBI. Bailey Bordas was 1-for-1 with two runs batted in. Keegan Weston was 2-for-3 and drove home two.


More Information: Fremont extended its winning streak to five games. The walk-off victory was the fifth for the Moo, this season. Fremont's Henry Hayman hit safely for the fifth straight game.
